Having worked together for over 30 years in the horseracing industry, co-directors, Anthony Bromley and David Minton have a proven track record of buying quality winners for their clients. High-profile successes include 5 Grand National winners, Many Clouds (in 2015), BallabriggsParty PoliticsHedgehunter and Neptune Collonges, five-time King George Chase winner, Kauto Star, Champion Staying Hurdler Big Buck’s plus the incredible 2-mile chasers of recent times, trained by Nicky Henderson, Sprinter Sacre and Altior.

In addition to these great jumpers, David, Anthony and Tessa Greatrex have also been responsible Since 2008 for 72 winners at the Cheltenham Festival (40 of them at Grade 1 level). In the latest 2019 Festival, they sourced 5 individual winners including Champion Chase winner Altior (his fourth consecutive victory at the Festival), Ryanair Chase victor Frodon and the RSA Chase winner Topofthegame. They also purchased the Champion 4yo hurdler Pentland Hills who was a dual Grade 1 winner at both Cheltenham (Triumph Hurdle) and at Aintree. At the 2018 Cheltenham Festival, 6 of their buys were successful most notably the dual Champion Hurdle winner Buveur D’Air.

Anthony, David and Tessa provide their clients with formidable insight into all aspects of the thoroughbred world. As well as finding racehorses, they can assist with trainer selection, and will provide ongoing advice throughout the horse’s career if required. They can also use their vast experience to purchase young untried stock for clients wishing to resell to both the Flat and Jumping Markets. They are also the masterminds behind the well-known and hugely successful Million in Mind Partnership.

SEASON SUMMARY 2017-18

The 2017/18 season broke all records for the Highflyer team with 26 Grade 1 victories being notched up by their purchases. This bettered the previous-best of 19 winners achieved in the 2008/09 season. This astonishing haul was made possible by the likes of top-class performers Altior, Buveur D’Air, Might Bite, Politologue, Bristol De Mai, L’Ami Serge, along with tip-top novices such as Footpad, Terrefort and We Have A Dream.

SEASON SUMMARY 2016-17

The latest 2016/2017 N.H. season was a record-breaking one for Highflyer as the team’s purchases won a staggering 84 Graded or Listed races with 16 of these being at Grade 1 level. Buveur D’Air’s Champion Hurdle victory at Cheltenham surely ranks highest but the performances of the likes of Arkle winner Altior, RSA Chase winner Might Bite, French Champion Hurdle victor L’Ami Serge and dual Gr. 1 winner Yanworth were other big highlights for the Company. With 6 Cheltenham Festival winners plus another 7 winners at the Aintree and Punchestown Festivals, it was a season to remember.

SEASON SUMMARY 2015-16

The highlights of the latest 2015-16 season were Sprinter Sacre’s unbeaten sequence culminating in a second Queen Mother Champion Chase and Altior’s exceptional victory in the Gr 1 Supreme Novices Hurdle at Cheltenham. Other Grade 1 wins have been achieved by the likes of Barters Hill, Bristol De MaiFootpad and Silviniaco Conti, and another high point was the unforgettable victory of Smad Place in the Hennessy Gold Cup at Newbury.

SEASON SUMMARY 2014-15

A record-breaking season for Highflyer saw 71 Graded/Listed races over jumps going the way of Highflyer-sourced horses, with 16 races being at Grade 1 level. Silviniaco Conti won a second consecutive King George VI Chase (which meant Highflyer purchases have now won the last 9 runnings of this prestigious steeplechase following on from Kauto Star and Long Run) as well as his 3rd Betfair Chase and 2nd Betfred Bowl. David Minton’s buy Many Clouds put up a huge weight-carrying performance to win the Grand National, adding to his earlier wins in the Hennessy Gold Cup and the Cotswold Chase at Cheltenham.

 

Alan King scored at the top level over fences with both Uxizandre and Balder Succes and over hurdles The New One was the top English 2 mile hurdler. Cole Harden ruled the roost at 3 miles in the World Hurdle at Cheltenham, beating fellow Highflyer buys Saphir Du Rheu and Zarkandar into the places but himself was beaten into second by another Highflyer purchase Whisper in the Gr 1 Liverpool Hurdle subsequently.

 

The novice divisions over both hurdles and fences were a happy hunting ground for Highflyer recruits in the latest season: Gr 1 victories over fences going the way of Saphir Du RheuGitane Du Berlais and Vibrato Valtat whilst over hurdles Peace And CoL’Ami SergeBristol De Mai and All Yours all won at the highest level. Interestingly, 18 different trainers handled the winners of the 71 Graded/Listed race winners showing the great diversity of the Highflyer Team.

SEASON SUMMARY 2013-14

An impressive tally of 50 Graded/Listed winners were sourced by the Highflyer team during the latest NH Season. Fourteen of these victories came at Grade 1 level and top of the shop was probably Silviniaco Conti who took both the King George VI Chase at Kempton and the Betfred Bowl at Aintree. Bobs Worth added the Lexus Chase to his big-race tally whilst over hurdles, The New One took the Aintree Hurdle and My Tent Or Yours won a brace of Grade 1 events and finished a very close second in the Champion Hurdle itself.

 

The novice divisions proved strong hunting grounds for Highflyer-purchased horses. Over fences Balder Succes proved to be one of the very best two-mile novice chasers around with a number of impressive wins culuminating in the Aintree Grade 1. Taquin Du Seuil, Uxizandre and Hinterland were other Grade 1 winning novices for Highflyer. Whilst over hurdles, Josses Hill, Royal Boy and Lac Fontana all won Grade 1 novice hurdles during the season.

 

Big handicap winners over fences included Triolo D’Alene (Hennessy Gold Cup), Al Co (Scottish National), Mountainous (Welsh National) and Ma Filleule (Topham Trophy), and over hurdles, the winners were Splash Of Ginge (Betfair Hurdle), Whisper (Coral Cup) and Lac Fontana (County Hurdle), were all sourced by the team at Highflyer.
