Some better ground at the end of April saw some fine winning performances from Peter The Mayo Man (Southwell) and Canelo (Fontwell). The former was a very facile winner of his second novices chase in a time only two seconds off the course record. He will race again shortly (possibly at Kempton on May 14). Canelo stayed on resolutely to also win well in a 2m5f novices’ hurdle at Fontwell and he will next be seen in public at the Million In Mind Annual Dispersal Sale at Goffs UK in Doncaster on Wednesday, May 23.
